Summer is winding down, and artists are gearing up for another exciting season of dance. Thoughts inevitably turn to footwear. The beginning of the dance season is a great time to investigate new dance shoes. A brand-new shoe can make a brand-new you. Dance Informa gathered a list of the freshest offerings from some of the most popular brands.

Bloch

Bloch is one of the world’s leading makers of technical dance footwear, apparel and accessories. Founded in 1932, by cobbler Jacob Bloch, the company continues today as a trusted brand used by dancers all over the world. Bloch has one of its busiest product years, with several new releases.

Arch Angel is a new leather ballet slipper for young dancers featuring built-in arch support, a patented ¾ split outsole, a supportive insole, and a rounded toe shape. The new design encourages proper foot mechanics while still allowing articulation through demi-pointe.

For pointe shoes, the Eurostretch Enhanced is the newest addition to the popular Eurostretch line. This updated version features stretch satin, a split outsole, a firmer shank and additional support for stronger dancers. The Euro Demi-Pointe shoe has a leather outsole and a hard-pasted box like a traditional pointe shoe, but there is no shank. This enables dancers to strengthen and prepare their feet for pointe work while working on correct alignment.

Another exciting new announcement is a pointe shoe called the Bespoke. The Bespoke incorporates many of the customizations most frequently requested by professional dancers into one ready-to-wear model.

Capezio has been dancing since 1887, and during that time, it has continually evolved and added new options in dance footwear. Capezio expanded its pointe shoe collection in the summer of 2026, with the release of two new models, Anna and Veloce. Developed after extensive collaboration with dancers, teachers and professional fitters, each shoe is designed to feel natural from the very first fitting while offering improved support and aesthetics.

The Anna is built for professional performance and is Capezio’s first pre-arched pointe shoe. It provides lightweight support with a seamless roll-through. The pre-arched construction minimizes break-in without compromising durability.

The Veloce features innovative shank technology, and provides responsive support, stability and durability in a lightweight design that moves with the dancer. Built on a newly developed last and handcrafted with expertise, the Veloce is balanced and streamlined for control, whether the dancer is in the studio or onstage.

Both models are currently available exclusively through Capezio retail locations and authorized fitters.

Eurotard

Eurotard is a family-owned brand based in Alpharetta, Georgia. The company has been internationally recognized for offering premium dancewear and footwear for more than 40 years. This retailer-exclusive company partners closely with local dance stores rather than competing through direct online consumer sales.

The company has a stretch-canvas split-sole ballet slipper called the Assemblé. The shoe comes in adult and children’s sizes and features pre-sewn crisscross elastics, drawstring-free elastic binding, and a breathable brushed cotton lining. The two-way stretch canvas does not bunch under the metatarsals, giving dancers increased control of the shoe. There is also a full suede forefoot pad and a supportive design that encourages proper technique during training.

Freed of London

Freed of London, founded in London’s Covent Garden in 1929, is a world-leading manufacturer of professional dance and pointe shoes. The company continues expanding its product offerings beyond ballet footwear with the introduction of a new ballroom shoe coming soon.

In 2027, Chacott, its parent company, will release a new pointe shoe featuring a hybrid of Chacott and Freed materials. Freed is also excited to announce that it is a new sponsor of Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) for the 2026-27 season.

R-Class

R-Class, founded in 1991, by Roman Kukushkin, is a premier Russian brand of handcrafted pointe shoes. The company continues to expand its Adaptiv Collection with the AD99 Oriela.

The Oriela features a fuller box and crown, a wider metatarsal area, an internal platform stabilizer, Adaptiv molding paste, and a stretch satin heel. The company has also begun offering one of its pointe shoe models in a skin-tone satin, taking an important step toward more inclusive color options.

The brand offers high-quality products, including ballet shoes, leotards, bodywear and theatrical footwear, in more than 35 countries. Another exciting footwear offering from Só Dança is the Claudine. The Claudine is a premium, full-leather Can-Can boot designed for dancers who demand a premium look without compromising function. It is made for Can-Can, character and cabaret performances. The 3-inch heel is braced for stability and control, while the contoured upper offers improved calf comfort and an elegant line. The lace-up design provides a secure, adjustable fit that helps keep the foot and ankle supported and aligned.

Suffolk

Suffolk, the popular family-run dancewear brand, is known worldwide for its handcrafted pointe shoes. Focusing on traditional British craftsmanship and modern design, the company has announced two new pointe shoes. The Sorella and the Sherwood were introduced on Suffolk’s social media platforms, along with the announcement of a summer pop-up shop in New York City. More information about the shoes is expected soon.

Even with challenges in the global marketplace, dancewear companies continue to innovate and provide performers with the products they need and want. With so many footwear choices available, every dancer can find something that is perfect for them and put their best foot forward.
