For dancers dreaming of experiencing the magic of New York City and stepping onto a Broadway stage, an exciting opportunity is returning in 2027. Dance the Magic on Broadway will bring studios and dancers to the Big Apple for an unforgettable event celebrating dance and the magic of Broadway.
Whether it is a dancer’s first trip to New York City or a city they’ve visited before, the event offers the opportunity to see the city through the lens of dance and performance. From exploring the energy of Broadway to performing on the iconic New Amsterdam Theatre stage, the dancers will be immersed in the excitement of New York City.
“It’s an amazing experience for dancers to get out in the Big Apple and experience dancing on Broadway!” says Dance the Magic.
The event is designed to give dancers much more than a performance opportunity. The itinerary also includes watching a Disney on Broadway show, workshops, a professional photoshoot, Dinner Dance Cruise, VIP Welcome party, in addition to rehearsals, dress rehearsal, custom costumes, and above all, performing on a Broadway stage.
Dance The Magic adds, “To have the opportunity to dance on the same stage as so many talented performers and legendary names, right in the heart of 42nd Street, is incredibly special. There is so much prestige and history surrounding Broadway, and to be able to say you performed on a Broadway stage is truly an honor and a memory dancers will carry with them forever.”
While the performance is a major part of the event, Dance the Magic is also about creating memories and giving dancers the chance to experience New York alongside their studio. “We hope they walk away inspired to continue growing as artists and performers, while also realizing how special it is to share an experience like this with their studio family. More than anything, we hope it enriches their lives as performers and gives them magical memories that will last a lifetime,” the Dance the Magic team adds.
As Dance the Magic on Broadway returns, the team shares some of their favorite memories over the years. “One of our favorites is seeing Dance the Magic and our participating groups’ names up in bright lights on the Broadway marquee. As a dancer, who doesn’t dream of seeing their name in lights in the big city?”
They add, “What really stays with us is seeing the dancers’ faces light up when they take their first steps onto a Broadway stage. There’s truly no other feeling like it. You can see and feel how full their hearts are. And then, when they take their final bow on the New Amsterdam Theatre stage, you see that beaming sense of pride and accomplishment on their faces. It’s that moment of realizing, ‘I just performed on a Broadway stage!’ That makes it so unforgettable.”
Adding in the team building and studio bonding of the trip, more memories are recalled of backstage moments, “watching dancers help the littles, calm each other’s nerves, tighten a bow, tuck in a leotard strap or tag, and make sure everyone is ready for their moment. Those small acts of kindness and attention to detail are that extra touch of magic that makes Dance the Magic so special.”
For studios considering the 2027 event, Dance the Magic on Broadway offers an unforgettable opportunity to bring dancers together for an experience that combines performance, travel, professional opportunities and the excitement of Broadway while creating lasting memories with their dance community and explore the Big Apple in a truly unique way.
