STREB EXTREME ACTION presents its spring home season, INTO THIN AIR, at the STREB Lab for Action Mechanics (SLAM) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, running April 10-May 3, 2026. Co-Artistic Directors Elizabeth Streb and Cassandre Joseph-Donnelly invite audiences to experience the fun, grit, and explosive sights of action and innovation.
The company returns with INTO THIN AIR, a thrilling display of high-impact feats choreographed by Elizabeth Streb. Harder, faster, and higher than before, the titular event centers on a striking, purpose-built structure: a trampoline anchored between two tall scaffolds, with retractable ramps and parallel bars suspended ten feet above the surface. This dynamic setup amplifies risk, rhythm, and STREB’s relentless pursuit of one elemental direction: up.
The program revives favorites like the prototypic teeter-totter TIP (commissioned for the 2006 Lincoln Center Festival) – a steep yet smooth challenge for the stout of heart – alongside beloved Action Events where bodies and physics collide: the split-second ducking and dodging of CHAOS MASS, the precarious balance of MUSIC BOX, and the ever-escalating intensity of MAVERICK SURF. INTO THIN AIR captures the exhilaration of soaring to new heights while confronting the inevitable crash.
Performances run Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 5pm, and Sundays at 3pm, April 10 – May 3, 2026. Tickets start at $15 and are available at https://streb.org/intothinair.
