2020 Tony Awards: Nominees Announced

The full list of nominees has been announced for the 2020 Tony Awards. James Monroe Iglehart, 2014 Tony Award winner (for his performance as the Genie in Aladdin), shared the list on the Tony Awards’ official YouTube page. Jagged Little Pill, inspired by Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album of the same name, leads the pack with a total of 15 nominations, including for Best Musical.

While this year’s ceremony dates are yet to be announced, plans are going ahead behind the scenes, hopefully for early December. In the midst of the pandemic, it is likely that the show will incorporate some pre-taped performances and online elements, in keeping with social distancing guidelines.
