Group Acorde will present Representation of Form, a multimedia, immersive contemporary dance and live music performance that brings photographer Christopher Peddecord’s acclaimed work to life. In 2020, the Houston Chronicle named Peddecord’s exhibition a “must watch.” As a dancer himself, Peddecord possesses a unique ability to capture movement, creating sensual and mysterious visual narratives through his lens.
In this new collaboration with Group Acorde, Peddecord photographed the company’s dancers and layered the images to form dynamic sequences of motion and choreography. These visuals will be projected throughout MATCHbox 1, serving as both artistic installation and inspiration for the live performance. Dancers and musicians, featuring bass and saxophone, will perform amid the projections, sometimes echoing the images and other times creating contrasting environments. Audience members are invited to move freely through the space, choosing where to direct their attention as the performance unfolds around them.
The production features choreography by Roberta Paixao Cortes and Lindsey McGill, original music by Thomas Helton and Andrew Baker, and photography by Christopher Peddecord. Performances run July 9–12, 2026, at MATCH (3400 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002). Each 90-minute event allows audiences to come and go as they please. Following the performance, attendees are invited to meet the artists and participate in a Q&A session.

This milestone production marks Group Acorde’s eighth original collaboration blending contemporary dance, experimental music, and visual art. The company previously earned critical recognition for works such as Origins (named one of the “10 Exciting Houston Dance Performances of 2019” by the Houston Chronicle) and Entrainment, a New/Now Performing Arts Houston commission.
