LA/NY-based Movement Director/Choreographer Zoe Rappaport launches Mentorship 4 Dancers: A 12-Week Online/In-Person Course to Deepen your Artistry and Creative Entrepreneurship. To have a sustainable career in today’s dance world — whether as a professional dancer, choreographer, artistic director, creative producer or educator – one must know themselves as an artist and possess the creative entrepreneurial skills necessary to carve one’s own path in our field. Designed for dancers 18 and over, Mentorship 4 Dancers focuses on exploring creative possibilities while gaining entrepreneurial skills, real-world knowledge and building a global network to become an Empowered Movement Artist.

In this six-session bi-weekly course, movement artists will be guided to: explore identity and artistic lineage, understand their own creative process, build their portfolio and receive one-on-one feedback, learn business 101 for freelance dancers and authentic branding, receive guest mentorship from some of LA/NY’s top movement artists and choreographers, showcase their work, and join a global alumni network. Students also gain insights from representatives from Career Transition For Dancers/The Actor’s Fund, as well as focus on mental health and dance with Danscend.

Online sessions begin the first of every month. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. In-person sessions take place at Stomping Ground in Los Angeles, CA, and begin on October 6, from 3-5pm PST. The in-person program culminates in a “Works in Progress” performance/choreographic showing, and the online program culminates in a virtual showcase.

The in-person program includes a photo/video shoot day, dance practicum, guest mentorship from some of LA’s top movement artists and choreographers, as well as solo and/or group projects. If you are a dancer not currently based in LA but interested in attending in-person, you can email for housing options.

Mentorship 4 Dancers is designed to meet dancers at any level in their career. Transcending commercial, concert and club dance, dancers of all styles/genres are welcome to join the community. Dancers 18 and over are eligible to apply for in-person or online sessions. To apply, visit www.rappaportdance.com/apply-1.
