Renowned dancewear brand (and a family business from the start), Só Dança, has entered a new chapter. After nearly 30 years, the brand’s U.S. headquarters has moved to Moultrie, Georgia. The new facility provides the company with just about four times the space it had before, the opportunity to design a distribution center of its dreams, and the chance to be immersed in a new community full of hospitality and support.

With its U.S. headquarters and distribution center previously located in Florida, Só Dança simply outgrew its old space. “We wanted a facility that would allow us to expand our inventory, streamline our logistics and better serve our customers nationwide,” says Helena Hines, COO, Só Dança USA.

Hines describes Só Dança’s new home of Moultrie, GA as being “a warm, welcoming community.” In addition, “from a business standpoint, Moultrie provides excellent access to transportation routes and the resources we need to grow. But beyond logistics, the spirit of the community made it feel like the right place to plant deeper roots.”

Always a family business, since its early days in the mid-1980s in Brazil, Só Dança took its own family of staff and team members into account when making this move. “Community matters deeply to us,” Hines explains. “From day one, we felt embraced in Moultrie. The support, encouragement and excitement for our arrival was remarkable. This move has not only given us a new home for our operations but also a new home for our team and their families.”

Hines uses the phrase “leap of faith” to describe the move. It wasn’t just about business; it was a step that symbolized Só Dança’s belief in growth, in resilience and in community. “Our entire team worked together to make it happen, moving over 12 semi-trucks of inventory ourselves,” she shares. “It brought us closer as a company and renewed our commitment to serving our customers with the same passion we always have.”

Now a global leader in dancewear, footwear and accessories, Só Dança quite simply required more space to house more inventory, and needed to be able to ship more efficiently and to introduce new product lines with greater confidence. “Dancers rely on us for quality and timeliness,” Hines says, “and this move enables us to deliver on both in bigger and better ways. We see this as an investment in our dancers as much as in our company.”

Now settled in Georgia, Só Dança can continue bringing its high-quality products to dancers all over. Particularly exciting to Hines are some of the new Tiler Peck leotard styles and dancewear pieces for the fall and winter. And with cozy fall season now upon us…soon to be followed by winter where we need to keep warm, we love the Be You® Genesis Romper, Esther Thigh-High Leg Warmers and Cloud Booties.

And we can’t wait to see what Só Dança comes up with next in its new home. “We’re proud to now call Georgia home and look forward to building a strong future here,” Hines says.
