Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, under the artistic direction of Igal Perry, announces its 43rd season, Intersections, premiering April 25, at the KnJ Theater and running through May 3.
With Intersections, the company presents a compelling program that investigates points of convergence – where ideas, cultures and disciplines meet, collide and evolve. Through a dynamic series of original works and reimagined choreography, the season explores themes of hybridity, connection and transformation, offering audiences a powerful reflection of contemporary life through movement.
“Dance is an art form built on encounters,” said Igal Perry, Artistic Director of Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. “With Intersections, we are looking at the moments when paths cross, whether harmonious or dissonant, and the creative possibilities that emerge from those encounters.”
The season features an exciting lineup of world premieres and celebrated repertory works, including: world premieres by Davidson Farias, marking his U.S. choreographic debut, alongside new works by Igal Perry and Kate Skarpetowska, a Juilliard alumna and former student of Perry; reimagined performances of iconic choreography, including Firebird by internationally renowned choreographer Marco Goecke and Marimba by acclaimed American choreographer Lar Lubovitch; and community engagement initiatives designed to extend the season’s themes beyond the stage, fostering dialogue and connection with diverse communities across all five boroughs of New York City.
Performances will take place at the KnJ Theater on April 25-26, and May 1-3. Tickets and additional information are available at www.peridancecontemporary.org.
