AVID (Artistic Ventures in Dance) will launch its second season with BOUNDLESS: Where Ballet’s Future Takes Flight, from June 26-27, at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway) in NYC. AVID is based in Colorado, but also presents work in NYC.
The company reimagines how audiences connect with dance by providing an innovative environment for choreographers and dancers to explore classical ballet through a contemporary lens, making ballet accessible and exciting for today’s audiences.
This performance features works by Daniel Ojeda, Quinn Wharton, Ursula Verduzco, Gerald Arpino, Danielle Diniz and Cherice Barton. Resident composer Anne-Marie Keane provided original scores for both Barton and Verduzco’s pieces. Live music is provided for some pieces by Ensemble Mycelium.
This performance will be ASL-interpreted and include a pre-show description of the music, beginning 15 minutes prior to the show. For more information, contact info@aviddance.org.
