Cirque du Soleil  - Seeking performers in Australia
There are 16 productions world-wide, with three more starting over the next two years, and each production needs a variety of performers including dancers. The dancers can have a range of style-skills due to the range of casting requirements, from classical to hip-hop, and especially contemporary.

Scholarships

Arts Funding 2008 - Grants!
Grants are being offered in 58 categories and more than 60 initiatives are managed either directly or with partner organisations. All Australian artists, groups and arts organisations are welcome to apply to these grant programs and many of the initiatives. They are being offered for all major areas of arts practice – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts, community partnerships, dance, inter-arts, literature, music, theatre and visual arts. The 2008 arts funding guide provides an overview of the Australia Council, its funding programs and other forms of support for the arts. It can be downloaded from the site below or mailed out on request.

2008 Robert Helpmann Dance Scholarship
Valued at $30,000, the Robert Helpmann Dance Scholarship is offered biennially by the NSW Government to assist a professional dancer or choreographer to develop their career. Applicants are invited to submit proposals that include further study or training, professional research or the undertaking of a particular dance project. Applicants should be able to demonstrate how their proposal will develop a vision for future dance practice and how it shares the spirit and general intention of the scholarship.
