Created by professional artist Callum Mansfield with a vision for creating work for professional dancers in Brisbane, Velocity Dance is quickly becoming one of Brisbane's leading dance entertainment troupes of professional performers with a collective experience base spanning a wide variety of performance genres.

Callum Mansfield himself began his performance career playing the young Peter Allen in the original production of The Boy From Oz, starring Todd McKenny. He went on to appear as a guest artist in Todd McKenny In Cabaret and other roles in Harvest Rain's Oliver!, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, The Wiz, and the Queensland premiere of Disney's Beauty And The Beast amongst many. In 2005, Callum joined Raw Metal Dance Company as a performer and worked as Creative Consultant and Assistant Director for their production of Urban Wonderland at the Brisbane Powerhouse. He now brings his experience and talent to Velocity Dance.

Velocity Dance's performance history already includes: the nationally televised Carols in the City, the Australian Gospel Music Festival, and Night and Day with the Queensland Pops Orchestra. As well as their own promotional video (click here to view), they have filmed music video clips for international artists, conducted dance workshops for groups such as Harvest Rain's MAD Youth Theatre, and are currently taking bookings for shows as far ahead as December '08.

Since their explosion on to the Brisbane arts scene only four months ago, the Velocity Dance Crew has been in high demand. Conceived and created by renowned Brisbane choreographer Callum Mansfield, the troupe has been nurtured under the management of Harvest Rain Theatre Company; Brisbane's largest pro-am theatre company.

Velocity Dance provides high quality, energized entertainment in the form of dance. Recently performing at the Concert Hall with the Queensland POPS Orchestra, Velocity Dance is committed to the theatrical performance value of dance and has a unique and fresh look, specialising in many forms of dance with an eclectic amalgamation of modern and classic dance disciplines including: jazz, funk, swing, contemporary, hip-hop, musical theatre and tap with just a dash of old fashioned theatrics. The result is a dramatic visual spectacle and a piece of vibrant entertainment compelling for all ages.

Velocity dance is searching for the best of what Brisbane has to offer with troupe auditions this June.

Velocity Dance is upsizing their troupe to accommodate bigger and better projects - including music videos and full scale productions. With the expansion of the troupe Velocity aims to tackle the video production and dance drama industry and needs a larger group to support them with that.
