In the next months two amazing dance movies are going to hit the screens! And there will be another classic on the way….
Step Up 2, The Streets will be released on Australian Big Screens on Thursday March 20th.
A sequel to the box office hit, Step Up, released in 2006, Step Up 2 is a street dance version of the original. Produced by Touchstone Pictures (Disney) Step Up 2 stars a rebellious street dancer called Andie, played by Briana Evigan, who finds herself at the elite Maryland School of the Arts. Fighting to fit in and trying to hold onto her old life at the same time, Andie joins forces with the school’s hottest dancer, Chase, played by Robert Hoffman, to form a dance group of classmate outcasts. Romantic sparks fly between the two characters. Competing in Baltimore’s underground dance battle 'The Streets', Andie ultimately finds that she can live her dream whilst building a bridge between her two separate worlds.
Featuring the directorial debut of award-winning Jon M. Chu, Step Up 2 The Streets reunites much of the production team behind the original film, including cutting-edge hip-hop choreographer Jamal Sims, who is joined this time by choreographers Hi-Hat and Dave Scott, from Stomp the Yard.
