Brisbane Contemporary Dance Intensive
Summer Program
11 – 22 January 2010
A week-long full time program of contemporary dance training aimed specifically at dancers aged 13 and over
who are currently in, or aspiring to be in, professional vocational training.
|
Join industry professionals for a week of intensive workshops in choreography, technique, duo contact, floor and release skills and more. Guest artists join the program in the afternoon to expand your dance moves into Afro Cuban, Pop, Yoga, Jazz and Hip hop.
Contemporary dance repertoire taught to all participants.
Intermediate (13yrs+) and Advanced/ Professional (17yrs+) levels available both weeks.
Places limited to 15 students per level per week.

Classes will be in four levels by ability. The minimum age is 9 years.

Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop, Tap, Classical, Acrobats, Musical Theatre, Broadway Jazz, Contemporary,
Cheerleading, Latin Fusion and a great variety of different warm ups every day.
Dance Factory’s SUMMER SCHOOL has been an exciting stop for students from all over Australia for over 15 years.
Many students and teachers return from year to year knowing they are guaranteed a variety of classes and teachers to help them enhance their technique and knowledge of dance. All our teachers have worked in the performing arts industry and enthusiastically pass on their skills to the budding stars of the future. You will definitely walk away an improved and informed dancer after you have experienced our Summer School.
We have 8 fabulous mirrored studios, a recreation area for lunches and kitchen facilities and also many wonderful little cafes in the area for those who wish to purchase re-energising snacks.
Dance Factory is producing dancers that have found their place throughout the West End, Broadway, Asia
and virtually every major musical production in Australian Theatre.

In January 2010, Ministry will be holding Two 5 day Summer School workshops.
The workshop will consist of all dance styles and performance techniques.
Workshop Dates: Week 1: 13th – 17th January 2010 OR Week 2: 20th – 24th January 2010
Both weeks will be jam packed with inspiration, celebrating the love for dance and choreography.
This is an opportunity to dance and learn from some of Australia’s leading Choreographers and facilitators and share your experience with family and friends in a performance finale.
Time: Classes will run from 10am to 4pm Daily.

Performing Arts Intensive Course
J.O. Studios now has an exciting offer for dancers aged between 7-21 years.
The Performing Arts Intensive Course is a 3 day workshop, designed to really push and challenge young dancers and performers.
With non stop classes for 9am-5pm, this intense program will cover all different styles of dance including Broadway Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern/Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre; as well as Singing and Film & TV. Plus for seniors a Popping, Locking & Breaks class. |
