Ballet Dancers
Kenneth Norman and Jacqui Johnson
Dancing professionally during the 60's they enjoyed numerous professional dance engagements in the U.K. both on stage in such theatres as the Royal Opera House and the London Palladium and in many TV shows. In addition they toured as principal dancers in many leading ballet companies, musicals and revue in England, Scotland and Wales.

In Australia Kenneth choreographed for television continuously for 15 years in both Melbourne and Adelaide. Over the years many of his students danced every week on Channel 9 TV gaining unique and valuable performing experience.

Kenneth and Jacqui were engaged by the Director of Primary Education in South Australia to write a Classical Ballet syllabus for Primary Schools, subsequently broadening the scope of this syllabus to include modern dance and choreographic studies. Kenneth and Jacqui actively lead the dance course, which was embraced by both city and country schools, for the next fifteen years.

In recent years they have travelled extensively both within Australia and overseas conducting seminars and assessments. A particular highlight last year was a tour to New York and a number of centres in Eastern Canada, where they visited dance studios and met with professional dance colleagues.

Kenneth has subsequently taught the ChoreoCraft method to local and interstate teachers in Australia and has been invited to present this dance composition method in Canada and Europe

Introducing Choreocraft…

ChoreoCraft is a new and exciting structured dance composition method with a graded syllabus designed for children, students and adults.

Creator and Director of ChoreoCraft, Kenneth Norman will be writing for DANCE informa in the coming editions to assist dance students, teachers and emerging choreographers with ChoreoCraft explanations, tips and assignments.

The ChoreoCraft method has been researched and developed since Kenneth taught dance notation at London's The Royal Ballet School in the early 60's, and was officially launched by Ausdance in November last year.

Kenneth believes ChoreoCraft is the 'missing link' in dance training. If the original passion for dance is to be maintained it is vital that students of all ages be given 'time out' to use their imagination and creative talents. 'I have found over many years that wherever I have taught ChoreoCraft, the method boosts the quality of students' dance work and increases their motivation levels', says Kenneth.

About Kenneth Norman

Kenneth Norman and his wife Jacqui Johnson have enjoyed a long professional involvement with the world of dance bringing both their experience and expertise to the development of ChoreoCraft.
